Pierres de Hoste, horse groom from Béarn, “took a sword that was there and drew it and with it he gave two thrusts to a picture of Our Lady of Loreto that was painted on a paper and put on the wall and when the witness saw it, he shouted at him and reproached him, taking him as a Lutheran and scolding him for what he had done. Pierres kept quiet. The same witness says that some days before he saw him cutting the paper on which the said image was painted with a pair of scissors, and he gave the image and recognised that it was found with the marks of the thrusts […] on the defence he said that he never saw him drunk, nor was he drunk when he gave the image the thrusts.

Pierres de Hoste, horse groom from Béarn, “tomo una espada que alli estava y la desembayno y dio con ella dos estocadas a una ymagen de Nuestra Señora de Loreto que estava pintada en un papel y puesta en la pared y como lo vio el testigo le grito y reprehendio llevandole de Lutherano y riñendole por lo que havia echo. El Pierres callo. El mismo testigo dize que algunos dias antes le vio que con unas tigeras estava cortando el papel donde estaba pintada la dicha ymagen dio la ymagen y reconocida se hallo con las señales de las estocadas […] sobre la defensa dixo que nunca le vio borraxo ni lo estava quando dio de estocadas a la ymagen.
